TietoEVRY, a leading Nordic digital services and software company headquartered in Finland, combined two organizations in a 2020 merger to create a 24,000‑person workforce. The merger left the business running multiple core HR systems, recruiting tools, portals and workflows, which impeded unified reporting, decision‑making and the agility needed to operate as a single company.
The company implemented Workday HCM and Recruitment as a single source of people data, retiring four legacy systems and executing a fully remote change program in just five months despite COVID‑19. The rollout achieved rapid adoption (96% of managers from the former EVRY logged in during month one), delivered unified reporting, common governance and improved insight for managers, supported remote working and allowed the organization to scale (headcount grew 66%) without increasing the global Workday support team.
