A Workday Case Study

The Salvation Army - Customer Case Study

The Salvation Army Australia, a nationwide charity with about 112,000 officers, employees and volunteers across 1,000 locations, merged two territories into one national organization and found its people processes scattered across 26 different systems. The organisation needed a single, scalable cloud HR solution to standardise hire-to-retire processes, manage the unique mobility and remuneration needs of officers, and ensure compliance with child-safeguarding and police checks.

TSA implemented Workday’s HCM suite (including recruitment, time tracking, expenses and learning) and integrated automated compliance checking with a third-party provider. The rollout eliminated manual processes, improved reporting and risk visibility, automated medical-claim reimbursements, and enabled rapid COVID-era workforce decisions. Within four months 22 of 88 planned benefits were realised, with reduced admin, faster reimbursements and stronger compliance among the early results.
