Sandvik boosts open enrollment participation 5x with Workday

Sandvik, a global engineering company, sought to move away from a top-down communication style and create a more employee-centric culture. The challenge was to improve engagement, especially with non-office-based workers, and ensure information flowed effectively from frontline employees to decision-makers. To address this, Sandvik turned to the vendor Workday, initially leveraging its Workday Journeys platform.

Workday's solution involved implementing Workday Journeys to create tailored employee pathways for onboarding, change management, and benefits enrollment. Sandvik also integrated Workday Peakon Employee Voice to automate feedback collection and gain real-time insights. The results were significant, including a fivefold increase in participation for a benefits enrollment event. The tools helped automate previously manual HR processes, and within nine months of launch, managers had acknowledged 78,000 employee comments and created over 1,000 actions based on feedback.
