How Velux Built a Strong Foundation for GDPR

Velux, the Danish skylight manufacturer with about 10,000 employees in 40 countries, faced fragmented HR data across multiple local systems, spreadsheets and databases just as the GDPR deadline approached. That lack of a single global system made compliance, collaboration and consistent people-management processes difficult and risky.

Velux implemented Workday’s cloud HCM with a three‑phase data migration and went live in February 2017 after an 11‑month rollout on time and on budget. The deployment created a single global source of employee data, stronger data governance and documented processes—giving Velux a foundation for GDPR compliance, faster, better decision‑making and simpler cross‑border sharing of people data.
