Case Study: Direct Line Group achieves accurate HR reporting and expense control with Workday

A Workday Case Study

Preview of the Direct Line Group Case Study

Direct Line Group empowers staff by putting data into their hands

Direct Line Group (DLG), the UK’s largest retail general insurer and a FTSE 100 company with 11,000 employees, faced fragmented and often inaccurate HR data after a series of mergers and a 2012 separation from RBS. With a planned IPO at risk from unreliable reporting, DLG needed a single, robust HR platform that would improve data accuracy, give managers control and insight, and standardise HR operations across the group.

DLG selected Workday for its ease of use and reporting and deployed it in six months, creating a single, user-friendly HR system. The solution delivered accurate data to support the IPO, high group-wide adoption, better expense visibility and auditability (including moving purchasing cards into Workday Expenses), faster payments, streamlined recruiting with improved sourcing and time-to-hire metrics, and measurable cost and efficiency gains that helped DLG focus on hiring and retaining top talent.
