Centrica saves at least 1 FTE in recruiting with Workday

Centrica, an international energy and services company, faced a complex and time-consuming challenge in recruiting thousands of field engineers. The manual process of matching a high volume of daily applications to job openings and geographic areas using spreadsheets was inefficient. To build on their existing use of Workday, they sought to automate this unique recruiting and area management process.

Working with partner Alight and using Workday Extend, Centrica developed a dedicated Engineer Area Management app. This Workday solution automated the complex matching of candidates to geographical patches and open roles, providing real-time data visibility. The results included significantly improved operational efficiency, saving the recruiting team the equivalent of at least one full-time employee, and enabling faster placement of prequalified candidates.
