Benefits provider scores an HR trifecta with an achievement badge app

Unum, a benefits provider, wanted a better way to engage employees, support learning, and improve talent mobility while gaining clearer visibility into skills and accomplishments across the company. Using Workday Extend, Unum created an Achievement Badge app to centralize employee achievement data and help HR and hiring managers find people with the right skills more quickly.

Workday helped Unum launch the app, which boosted employee enthusiasm and pride in earned badges. The results were strong: one-third of employees earned at least one badge, with Unum expecting that number to reach 50% within the year, and employees even began adding badge icons to email signatures. The app also gave Unum better insights into its internal talent pool and improved employee experience through a single data source.
