Otis faced an urgent humanitarian challenge when about 300 field service workers in Ukraine and their families needed a way to share their situations, request help, and find safe housing after the 2022 invasion. With spreadsheets quickly becoming unmanageable, Otis turned to Workday and Workday Extend to rapidly create a solution.

Workday built Otis’s Humanitarian Relief app in just three days, giving employees in Ukraine a way to register their needs and colleagues in nearby countries a way to offer beds, rooms, transportation, and language support. The app connected employees across borders and helped Otis respond faster and more effectively to a crisis, delivering critical support for workers and their families.
