A new model for removing barriers to healthcare access

ChenMed, a healthcare innovator focused on removing barriers to care, needed to reduce the time its teams spent on finance and procurement so clinicians could focus more on patients. Using Workday, ChenMed set out to streamline vendor management, purchasing, and reimbursements while supporting rapid growth.

Workday helped ChenMed reinvent procurement with self-service capabilities, simplified vendor onboarding and approvals, and stronger security roles. The result was major efficiency gains: ChenMed increased invoice processing by 36%, automated 80% of purchase order and invoice transactions, automated 94% of expense reimbursements, and opened more than 30 new care centers since March 2020. Workday also enabled the finance team to do more analysis and less manual work, with fewer errors and a smaller staff than industry benchmarks.
