Transforming Financial Planning and Analysis to Better Fund Lifesaving Research

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the largest voluntary health organization focused on blood cancers and a funder of more than $1 billion in research and support services, needed to modernize its financial planning to better support its mission. Lengthy budgeting and forecasting cycles left little time for analysis and limited organization-wide collaboration, transparency, and accountability across its 64 U.S. and Canada chapters.

LLS implemented a cloud-based FP&A solution (integrated with its new ERP) and rolled it out to more than 400 managers and employees, enabling rolling monthly forecasts, daily transactional visibility, and one-click reporting. The result was greater participation and ownership of corporate performance, improved accuracy and transparency of chapter cash flow, campaign returns and donor metrics, faster decision-making informed by cash-flow trajectories, and stronger multiyear planning and strategic evaluation.
