Case Study: Coventry Building Society achieves faster, more flexible reporting with Workday Adaptive Planning

A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study

Preview of the Coventry Building Society Case Study

The Coventry has gone from manual processes to slicing and dicing data

Coventry Building Society needed to replace a decades-old finance system that had become highly manual, poorly integrated, and dependent on spreadsheets and workarounds as the organization grew from about £5 billion to nearly £50 billion in assets. The finance team wanted better reporting, more flexible data analysis, and a way to move away from time-consuming administration. Coventry Building Society chose Workday Adaptive Planning as part of a broader Workday finance transformation.

Workday Adaptive Planning, along with Workday Financial Management and Accounting Center, helped Coventry Building Society gain much stronger reporting flexibility and the ability to slice and dice data in real time. The result was a 16x increase in standardized and self-service reporting, nearly 70% fewer spreadsheets around month-end, and a rise in automated or semi-automated controls from under 5% to more than 70%. Coventry also achieved a three-day month-end capability, with the first close completed on working day five.
