Siemens Healthineers - Customer Case Study

Siemens, a global technology group undergoing large-scale digital transformation, needed to strengthen its talent management to support growth across industry, energy and healthcare businesses. The company faced fragmented, on‑premises HCM systems that drove up costs, increased support complexity and limited employee self‑service, creating a clear need for a unified, cloud‑based HR platform across Siemens AG, Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Energy.

Siemens selected Workday Human Capital Management (with Absence, Compensation and Talent Management) implemented by IBM Services, using a Global Process template and IBM’s Factory Method to manage roughly 30 parallel workstreams. The cloud rollout is live for ~40,000 employees across 35 countries (with plans to reach 100,000+ in 24 months), delivering faster deployments, lower HCM costs, improved employee and manager experiences and ongoing support via IBM Application Management Services, with future plans for deeper analytics and AI‑driven HR support.
