Case Study: Reach achieves stronger employee engagement and cultural integration during major restructure with Workday Adaptive Planning

A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study

Preview of the Reach Case Study

Publishing company engages employees during organizational restructure

Reach, the UK’s largest commercial news publisher (titles include the Daily Mirror and Daily Express), faced a major challenge after acquiring the Express & Star and undertaking a large-scale restructure and rebrand. The deal and ensuing uncertainty risked damaging culture and employee engagement across the organization.

Reach relied on Workday Peakon Employee Voice (monthly surveys and leader dashboards) to pinpoint priorities, inform leaders, and bring employee feedback into the boardroom. Targeted actions—including quarterly reporting to the board and new development programs (Leaders of the Future and the Bridge)—lifted scores for growth, strategy and organizational fit, increased executive buy-in, strengthened culture and improved retention.
