Case Study: PGA of America achieves streamlined purse management and improved security with Workday Adaptive Planning

A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study

Preview of the PGA of America Case Study

PGA of America - Customer Case Study

The PGA of America, one of the world’s largest sports organizations with nearly 28,000 PGA Professionals, needed a modern way to manage tournament prize purses—often worth millions—after relying on a complex, time-consuming custom add-on to its legacy finance system. As part of a broader move to Workday for finance and HR, the organization sought a solution that would reduce operational complexity, improve security, and streamline interactions with tournament organizers and third-party systems.

Using Workday Extend and the Workday Integration Cloud, the PGA built a Purse Management app that integrates BlueGolf and Golf Genius via an AWS API gateway, automates approvals and supplier invoice creation through Workday Studio, and enforces access with Workday security. The result is a seamless in-Workday experience that reduces development and management overhead, automates most purse workflows, lowers risk, improves user experience, and remains adaptable as Workday evolves.
