A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
NTU Singapore, a top-ranked research university, needed to attract and retain world-class faculty by modernizing an aging, fragmented HR infrastructure. The university sought a cloud-first, mobile-enabled platform to provide consistent academic appointment processes and a better employee experience for roughly 6,000 faculty/research staff and 3,000 administrative staff, while consolidating dozens of in‑house HR tools.
NTU implemented Workday as Asia’s first Institute of Higher Learning to do so, streamlining 65 HR apps into one integrated system for recruitment, workforce planning, performance, learning, payroll and analytics. The rollout delivered a user-friendly, self-service experience with centralized data and ML-driven insights, faster and more accurate payroll (including timely pay for 600 part‑time lecturers), improved cross‑department collaboration, and stronger evidence-based decision making across HR and finance.
