A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
Chuy’s, the Austin-based hospitality chain with 90 restaurants across 17 U.S. states, needed a better way to handle SEC and board reporting, store-level budgeting, and fast-changing forecasting during the pandemic. With a lean two-person FP&A team, the company turned to Workday Adaptive Planning to reduce manual effort and improve financial planning flexibility.
Workday Adaptive Planning was deployed companywide with integrations to the general ledger, POS data, and other back-office systems to create a single source of truth for planning and reporting. The results included cutting reporting and budgeting work from five people to two, saving 2–4 days in operating and financial reporting, and helping Chuy’s improve restaurant-level operating margin by 880 basis points versus fiscal 2019 while supporting ROI planning for new locations.
