RaceTrac, an Atlanta-based retailer operating 550+ RaceTrac and 200+ RaceWay stores with about 8,000 employees, faced slow, error-prone finance operations spread across three legacy systems. RaceTrac moved to a unified Workday cloud platform for finance and HR, simplifying workflows and reporting and automating processes. Results included consolidating three finance systems into one, 80% business process automation, a drop from 7,000 to 330 ledger accounts and 12 new reporting dimensions, FTEs reduced from 3 to <0.5, 75% fewer internal queries, a 2-day cut in AP reimbursement times, improved inventory visibility and auto-replenishment, and higher management agility for better decisions.
