Macquarie University - Customer Case Study

Macquarie University needed to modernize HR services so it could better support its student-first mission and research goals. The university was dealing with fragmented processes, including 23 HR forms, three separate timesheet systems, and 26 different development and performance review templates, making HR work complex and time-consuming. Workday Adaptive Planning was part of the broader Workday solution helping address these challenges.

Workday and Macquarie University implemented a streamlined, self-service HR environment with a “one stop shop,” standardized templates, and automated workflows for performance, succession, and workforce planning. The results included removing 23 forms, consolidating three timesheet solutions, reducing templates from 26 to 5, and moving planning away from spreadsheets. With Workday Adaptive Planning and related tools, Macquarie University gained better visibility into workforce data, improved decision-making, and created a stronger foundation for future benefits.
