John Muir Health gains efficiency with a single finance and HR system

John Muir Health, a nationally recognized not-for-profit healthcare system east of San Francisco with more than 1,000 physician members and 6,000 employees, needed a long-term platform to improve data integrity, automate manual processes, and add flexibility to run a more efficient, strategic, and centralized organization. The organization also aimed to simplify its technology landscape and reduce the effort required to support and maintain systems.

Since going live with Workday in 2012, John Muir Health consolidated finance and HR on a single cloud system, increasing automation, self-service, and confidence in data so teams could focus on higher-value work. Results included a 25% reduction in HR integration support, $650,000 in annual savings from fewer accounting FTEs, payroll errors cut from 1% to 0.3%, 40% fewer support FTEs for faster closes and reporting, and 500 fewer external audit hours.
