A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
La Clinica de La Raza is a Federally Qualified Health Center in Oakland that provides over 400,000 primary and preventive care visits to more than 90,000 patients across 35 clinics. Rapid growth and a $100M+ budget spread across 100+ cost centers—plus funding from hundreds of grants—made financial planning and reporting increasingly complex. Manual, spreadsheet-based budgets prevented data integration across sites and hindered accurate workforce planning and grant reporting.
Working with partner Prime Planning, La Clinica implemented Workday Adaptive Planning to link financial and statistical data (visits, FTEs, provider and payor models) and enable real-time staff allocation and capacity monitoring. The result: interconnected, transparent budgets and a single source of truth for stakeholders, smoother and more credible budget cycles, and accurate workforce planning that shows the impact of provider and visit changes in real time.
