A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
Bronson Healthcare, a Kalamazoo-based health system with 8,500 employees, needed to make training far more agile to support consistent patient care across sites. Its legacy learning management system was inflexible—developers had to build multiple device-specific versions of courses, adding videos and third-party content was slow, tracking what learners covered was difficult, and administrators spent excessive time managing plans—leaving employees without clear visibility into learning options.
Bronson implemented Workday Learning (integrated with Workday HCM and Extended Enterprise) to create universal, device-agnostic courses, easily add multimedia and third‑party content, and centralize governance. The organization moved onboarding to fully virtual in four days and remotely onboarded 1,200 people over nine months, consolidated safety and compliance content from 500 modules to 6 (a 98% reduction), cut 2,500 hours of mandatory training time in 2020, and reduced reporting time from a week to about 15 minutes.
