A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
American Student Assistance (ASA) is a national nonprofit that has supported students with financial education and loan-guarantee services since 1956. Facing disruption in the student-financing market and needing to diversify revenue, ASA was held back by rigid, outdated technology and static processes that prevented flexible reporting, accurate forecasting, and timely decision making.
ASA implemented Workday Adaptive Planning to automate collaborative planning, reporting, analytics, and data consolidation, integrating ERP and HR feeds for daily and weekly updates. The FP&A team now runs real-time rolling forecasts and workforce plans, reducing forecast variances to about 3–5% and shifting finance from reactive reporting to a strategic, decision-support role with real-time visibility for senior leaders.
