A new model for removing barriers to healthcare access

ChenMed, a healthcare innovator serving medically underserved seniors, wanted to reduce barriers to care while scaling rapidly across its centers. As it opened new locations and expanded during the pandemic, the company needed a more efficient way to manage finance and procurement operations with Workday Adaptive Planning and related Workday products.

Workday Adaptive Planning helped ChenMed automate and streamline source-to-pay, expense, and invoice processes, giving staff more time for patient-focused work. The results were significant: 80% of PO and invoice transactions were automated, invoice processing increased by 36%, expense reimbursements were 94% automated, and a reverse auction saved about $70K. Workday Adaptive Planning also helped ChenMed support more than 30 new care centers opened since March 2020 without adding headcount.
