A Workday Adaptive Planning Case Study
Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) is a nonprofit dialysis provider and kidney research institute with 259 clinics, 5,000 employees and 15,000 patients across 29 states. The organization struggled with siloed applications and a 30-year-old finance system that forced manual, paper-based workflows and left finance and HR teams without clear visibility into expenses, transactions and resources—hindering efforts to control patient costs, manage compliance and deliver personalized care.
DCI implemented Workday to unify finance and HR, automate accounts payable, expense reporting and staffing, and provide web/mobile access for onsite and remote work. Results included a shortened financial close (8 days versus 18–25), instant joint-venture statements (1 second vs. 45 minutes), stronger spend controls, faster audits through auditor self-service, internal upskilling to a Workday admin role, and roughly $100,000 in operational savings while improving hiring flexibility and overall agility.
