Palagan, established in 1975, manufactures customised high‑performance polythene packaging and has an annual turnover of around £12 million and some 700 customers. The company lacked a central customer database and clear pipeline visibility, which made quoting and lead management slow and fragmented across spreadsheets, accounting software and individual inboxes.

In 2016 Palagan implemented Workbooks CRM (build started Feb, went live June), importing 700 customer records in two weeks and training the team to use the system. The CRM tightened processes and task allocation, routed web enquiries directly into the pipeline, and cut quoting time from 15–20 minutes to 3–4 minutes (an 80% reduction); Palagan is now extending automation to convert quotes to orders for further efficiency gains.
