Requesters had to open ServiceNow tickets and provisioning engineers manually ran scripts and updated requests across multiple apps, creating friction, breaking workflows, and preventing the team from focusing on higher-value work.

Nutanix integrated Slack with Workato’s automation engine so engineers request VMs via a Workbot in Slack, which creates ServiceNow tickets, checks requester history, and automatically selects the optimal Nutanix cluster to provision standard VMs—routing heavy or custom requests to Slack-based manual review. The change delivers VMs in about 10 minutes, saves the provisioning team 5–6 hours per week, reduces costs and context switching, and produces a repeatable process customers can implement themselves.
