Braille Institute of America is a nearly 100-year-old nonprofit serving more than 75,000 blind and visually impaired people through regional and outreach centers. After migrating donor data to cloud systems—Luminate CRM (Salesforce-based) and Intacct—the organization lost its legacy connection and was stuck with a tedious, error-prone monthly process of exporting, converting, and importing donation batches, which delayed financial reporting and required significant manual troubleshooting.

Braille Institute implemented six Workato recipes to automate conversion of Luminate donations into Intacct journal entries, monitor and update records, handle reversals, and trigger real-time syncs when batches are verified; they also automated SurveyMonkey notifications for event registration. In the first 10 months Workato processed 37,900+ journal entry items (about 3,700 per month), saving hours of manual work, improving timeliness and internal controls, and letting staff build and expand integrations without developer help.
