Costume SuperCenter, one of the largest costume retailers in the world, needed to replace legacy, self-hosted ecommerce systems (including Magento) that couldn’t handle massive seasonal traffic spikes, slow page loads, or the cost and complexity of in‑house maintenance. At the end of 2015 they set out to replatform five specialty sites and selected the modern, SaaS Workarea platform to provide a unified, responsive solution and remove costly third‑party dependencies.

Workarea launched all five responsive sites in seven months and delivered a mobile‑first, multi‑site admin that a single content team member can manage. The Workarea platform eliminated a six‑figure search vendor, improved onsite search conversion by 20% YoY, drove a 49% lift in October mobile conversions YoY and a 24% tablet conversion increase, and freed the team to focus on creative campaigns and faster site updates.
