How SalzburgerLand.com is engaging travelers and outperforming competitors

SalzburgerLand Tourismus, the tourism agency for the Salzburg region, needed a stronger content marketing strategy to attract and engage travelers from different countries. Working with WordLift, they set out to improve how their content was organized and discovered by search engines and users, while also preparing it for multiple channels and devices.

WordLift helped SalzburgerLand migrate to WordPress, restructure content around traveler personas, and build an enterprise knowledge graph using linked data and WordLift Cloud. The result was a new semantic website with nearly 2,500 entities in eight languages, better access for machines and partners, and strong SEO gains: between February and July 2017, SalzburgerLand.com acquired 148,166 new users via organic search, outperforming 161 comparable travel websites by 92.65%.
