Biogas energy allows villages to thrive in Cameroon, Africa

The customer, Afri-Link, in partnership with the local charity BERUDA, was working to combat deforestation and health issues caused by reliance on firewood in a Cameroonian village. The vendor, Wood, provided funding through its community support programme to help address this challenge.

The solution implemented by Wood involved developing a community biogas system that used readily available pig manure as a raw material. This system provides a sustainable source of gas for cooking and heating, and can generate electricity. The project has significantly improved community health, created a sustainable income from fertilizer byproducts, and allowed children to focus on education instead of gathering firewood.
