Case Study: Equinor boosts Peregrino production and asset life with Wood’s integrated offshore solutions

A Wood Group Case Study

Equinor delivers 1.5 million incident-free hours with Wood at Peregrino

Equinor, a major energy company, required integrated offshore solutions to operate, maintain, and enhance production at its Peregrino field, one of Brazil's largest oil fields. The challenges included managing aging infrastructure in a corrosive environment, executing complex modifications without disrupting ongoing production, and ensuring safety in a demanding offshore setting. Wood provided comprehensive brownfield engineering, operations, and maintenance services to address these needs.

Wood implemented a full life cycle solution, acting as a single interface for Equinor from concept to commissioning. This included designing and constructing a new wellhead platform, executing major upgrade campaigns, and leading high-activity periods with large, multidisciplinary teams. As a result, Wood safely maintained and optimized production, delivering over 1.5 million incident-free work hours during one campaign and fabricating over 1,500 tons of structures. The partnership, spanning over 15 years with multiple extensions, enhanced asset reliability and extended the field's life.
