Stavanger Golf Club - Customer Case Study

Stavanger Golfklubb needed a modern, more professional website with a custom homepage that could show a full-width image slider, news, course info, Golfbox login and sponsor ads. Local developer Magnus Jepson was asked to redesign the site and update the theme, so he chose to build a child theme on top of the Canvas parent theme to meet the club’s specific layout and functionality needs.

He implemented a Canvas-based child theme with a custom functions.php and home.php, added a full-width Flexslider, a sponsor slider (WP125), icon fonts (IcoMoon/FontAwesome) and tailored header and content queries, plus plugins for security, caching, localization, sidebars and SEO. The redesign was completed in about 10 hours over a weekend, resulting in a cleaner, faster, more manageable site with reusable code shared on GitHub.
