A WooCommerce Case Study
Michael Terrien of Terrien Wines runs two private Napa vineyards producing very limited small-batch chardonnay and pinot noir. As demand grew he needed a reliable way to manage allocation sales, but industry platforms were prohibitively expensive (roughly $4,200/year) and overbuilt for his needs.
He built a low-cost storefront with WordPress and WooCommerce, paid a oneātime $500 to have a custom allocation plugin developed, and used the free Storefront theme with minimal tweaks. The site controls timed releases, per-customer limits and loyalty tiers, reduced annual costs to about $179, and delivered the flexibility, community support, and simplicity a small-batch winemaker needs; the allocation plugin is available on WordPress.org.
