How the World Wildlife Fund is using eCommerce for Good

The World Wildlife Fund launched a technical-apparel project to generate sustainable funding and promote eco-friendly manufacturing, creating a single flagship product — the Black Leopard jacket — that met strict environmental and quality standards. Faced with changing donor expectations and the need to appeal to supporters as customers, WWF treated the effort like a startup: lean, customer-focused, and built for growth and global rollout.

Tenzing Agency developed a mobile-first WooCommerce/WordPress store with a custom lightweight theme, selective plugins, and a custom Aramex fulfilment integration to enable fast checkouts and reliable distribution. The result is a scalable eCommerce platform that increased conversions (notably after adding a “Which initiative do you most value?” option), channels sales revenue to WWF initiatives, and provides a foundation to expand the product line and influence sustainable clothing manufacturing.
