How Jill used WooCommerce to create the “Netflix you have to wear pants for

RushTix, founded by performer Jill Bourque, is a curated membership service that connects live-event organizers with curious audiences to reduce costly empty seats. Jill launched the idea to address inefficient static ticket pricing and last-minute unsold inventory that can devalue shows and hurt theaters’ revenue.

She proved the model with a lean WooCommerce setup (Bluehost, WooCommerce Subscriptions, PayPal), manually curated recommendations, and a strong onboarding focus to activate members quickly. Today RushTix works with 400+ arts organizations, offers about 40 events weekly, has grown ~20–30% MRR month over month, joined an incubator, secured seed funding, and is scaling product and marketing to enter new markets.
