Case Study: China Ministry of Railways achieves centralized, scalable Passenger Information across 220 stations with Wonderware

A Wonderware Case Study

Preview of the China Ministry of Railways Case Study

The Wonderware solution for the China Ministry of Railways combines control, intelligence and process management

The China Ministry of Railways needed a China-made, scalable passenger information and facilities management solution to support rapid deployment of new high‑speed lines, integrate equipment from dozens of third‑party vendors, provide a user‑friendly operator interface, and be easy to expand and maintain under tight schedules (the Beijing–Tianjin line had an 18‑month target).

AVEVA’s Passenger Information System — combining InTouch HMI with a standardised, object‑oriented platform — integrated public address, CCTV, video displays, ticketing and other systems across stations. The solution was rolled out to 220 stations on 15 high‑speed lines (covering 1,300+ platforms and ~10,000 I/O points), enabled stations to be configured in as little as a day, allowed centralised updates and control, reduced operating and maintenance costs, and simplified future expansion.
