Ascend Performance Materials, a global leader in Nylon 6,6 with four integrated U.S. facilities, was hampered by fragmented systems, manual data entry and limited visibility into production efficiency and product quality. The company needed to eliminate manual inputs, reduce non‑value monitoring and accurately capture manufacturing data to see performance in the context of overall operations.

Ascend implemented Mobile Operator Rounds with AVEVA Intelligence, Workflow and IntelaTrac to create a Visual Factory and a single, open information model that digitized rounds, connected handheld RFID/barcode scanners and tied field data into enterprise systems. The project was deployed in 90 days and delivered tangible results: $500,000 in utilities savings, over $1 million in maintenance savings, faster decision support, improved operational performance and higher job satisfaction.
