Pepsi Bottling Plant Decreases Downtime and Improves Quality with Wonderware Software

Pepsi Bottling Ventures, the #1 Pepsi bottling plant in North America, faced unreliable, paper-based downtime and performance tracking across four legacy lines plus a new Direct Blow Fill line. To eliminate subjective data, justify capital projects, and build an enterprise platform for future expansion, Pepsi Bottling Ventures selected Wonderware West and its Wonderware software suite to provide consistent, real‑time production and OEE monitoring.

Wonderware West implemented the Wonderware System Platform, Wonderware MES Performance, Wonderware InTouch HMI, Wonderware Historian and Historian Clients across all five lines, delivering real-time visualization and propagated downtime coding from machine centers to line level. The solution improved decision-making and line efficiency (supporting PBV’s expansion from ~189 to over 500 products), helped sustain production of more than 30 million cases a year, enabled a projected payback of 2.8 years, and supported sustainability goals by reducing waste and energy use.
