Tampa Bay Animal & Bird Hospital is a long-established veterinary practice with four Tampa Bay locations offering wellness, emergency, surgery, grooming, boarding and training services. In the mid-2000s the practice faced extremely high staff turnover—around 70%—which was costly and disruptive to operations.

Beginning in 2007 the hospital adopted Wonderlic assessments (a pre-screening questionnaire, the Personnel Test–Revised, the Personal Characteristics Inventory and a Structured Behavioral Interview) to guide hiring. The tests are quick and easy to administer, gave clearer, field-specific insight into candidate fit, and helped cut turnover to under 30%, saving time and training costs while improving hiring predictability.
