Swift Driving Academy, part of Swift Transportation, trains new truck drivers at six locations nationwide and places graduates within the Swift organization. Because Swift invests heavily in student training, the San Antonio academy needed a way to ensure applicants had the basic skills and compliance knowledge required to succeed and reduce costly dropouts.

The academy implemented Wonderlic’s Scholastic Level Exam (SLE) for general admissions. Since introducing the SLE, retention rates have increased dramatically, the program has saved an estimated $26,000 in training costs, and applicants who initially failed were motivated to improve, retest, pass, and complete the program.
