A Wonderlic Case Study
Omaha Street School, a nonprofit that helps inner-city teens earn high school diplomas or GEDs and prepare for college and careers, serves many students who face poverty and unstable housing. Accurate, easy-to-understand placement testing was critical, but the assessment they had been using confused students, families and teachers and hindered effective placement and progress tracking.
They adopted Wonderlic’s GAIN basic skills test, which produces clear, accessible reports that staff, students and partner agencies all understand. As a result, teachers can independently use the results for advising and placement, students gain confidence (one student realized he was GED-ready), and the program saw improved communication, placement accuracy and student progress.
