North Mississippi Medical Center (NMMC), the largest non-metropolitan hospital in the U.S. and a three-hospital system with more than 40 clinics across Mississippi and Alabama, needed a faster, more reliable way to screen the high volume of job applicants and internal candidates. Paper-based assessments and faxing results created delays and inefficiencies for recruiters and administrators.
NMMC moved to electronic Wonderlic assessments—including the Wonderlic Personnel Test, a specialized skills-based test for clinical and clerical roles, and the Wonderlic Comprehensive Personality Profile—installing a dedicated computer lab for testing and getting instant results. The change streamlined hiring and internal promotion decisions, surpassed the projected 3,500 assessments in six months, and produced internal use rates three times higher than expected.
