A Wonderlic Case Study
Happy Days/Freedom High School in San Pedro Sula, Honduras is a Pre-K–11 international school of nearly 1,000 students where 70% of the curriculum is taught in English and the staff emphasizes individualized student success and college preparation. The school had been using lengthy, paper-and-pencil IQ and personality testing administered by local psychologists that took several hours to complete and months to return results, delaying career guidance for students.
In 2010 the school implemented Wonderlic’s quick, computerized cognitive and personality assessments (the Personnel Test–Revised and the Personal Characteristics Inventory), which delivered accurate results in minutes instead of weeks. The change produced immediate positive feedback from students, parents and teachers, helped graduates make timely career decisions (one student used the results to choose chemical engineering), and—according to the principal—cut turnaround time from about eight weeks to 15 minutes while improving satisfaction.
