A Wonderlic Case Study
Education Affiliates, a Baltimore-based network of more than 40 post-secondary schools offering career training from healthcare to trades, faced a surge of applicants driven by economic pressure. That growth made selective admissions and accurate program matching critical—not just to place students in the right training but to meet outcome expectations (financial aid requires 70% graduate employment and EA aims for 86%).
EA implemented Wonderlic tools—primarily the Scholastic Level Exam for nearly 60,000 students a year—to assess aptitude, guide applicants into appropriate programs (and stepwise pathways when needed), and predict GPA. They also use Wonderlic surveys with staff, students, graduates, and employers to refine offerings. As a result, EA has improved student-program fit, seen higher GPAs linked to assessment scores, and achieved employment outcomes near their target (about 84–85%).
