Blake Austin College, a nationally accredited career school in Vacaville, CA, educates about 250 students a year across two campuses in 9–13-month medical and beauty programs. Administrators were struggling with retention: many applicants passed the school’s basic entrance exam but later dropped out because they couldn’t handle the coursework, so the college needed a better way to evaluate incoming students’ ability to learn.

The college implemented the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam (SLE), a 12-minute online cognitive test that replaced a 90-minute exam.
