Harvard Students Build Their Own AI Game to Learn a New Language

The customer, Harvard University, faced the challenge of creating engaging, real-life language practice opportunities for students in a beginning French course. This challenge was addressed using Wonda's AI capabilities to transform a traditional classroom exercise into an interactive simulation.

Wonda's solution enabled students to create and power their own AI character avatars for a murder mystery game in a virtual Parisian art museum. The platform used AI to allow students to interrogate these characters, converting student speech to text for the AI and then generating spoken responses, which significantly boosted engagement and motivation. The result was a highly successful experiment where Wonda helped achieve 100% student engagement and provided a powerful new way to practice pronunciation and conversational skills.
