West Coast Academic Medical Center, a west coast academic medical center, needed a better way to engage women over age 40 who were overdue for mammograms and encourage them to take preventive action. The challenge was to use staff efficiently while reaching a large patient population and improving both clinical and financial outcomes. Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions provided the EmmiPrevent® interactive call campaign to support this effort.
Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions implemented a 48-day automated call campaign that educated patients on the importance of mammograms and offered a direct transfer to scheduling. The campaign reached 47% of the 7,166 targeted women; 21% of those reached said they had already had a mammogram, 30% requested scheduling, and 43% of those who transferred ultimately completed their screening.
