A Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions Case Study
A large aluminium manufacturing company sought to improve its safety performance and engrain a safety culture across its fourteen global sites. Their key challenges included high incident rates, reliance on manual data collection with spreadsheets, and a need to standardize processes globally to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. To address this, the company partnered with Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions and implemented their Enablon platform, specifically the Incident Management and Behavior-Based Safety Observations solutions.
Wolters Kluwer ELM Solutions provided a flexible, multi-language platform that enabled the large-scale capture and analysis of safety data. The implementation led to the submission of 38,000 annual observations and provided critical insights into at-risk behaviors. The results were a dramatic reduction in incident rates, with the global recordable injury/illness rate falling to below 1.10 and the days away from work rate dropping to below 0.40. This success also enabled the company to produce its first sustainability report using the data collected by the Enablon system.
