Graphicast Reduces Order Backlog, Improves Customer Service and Expedites More Orders Using Protected Flow Manufacturing™

Graphicast, a New Hampshire industrial casting supplier, was hit by an unexpected surge in orders that created a multi-week backlog, poor visibility into delivery dates, and limited ability to offer shorter lead times. To address scheduling variability and customer-service gaps, Graphicast turned to WM Synergy and implemented Protected Flow Manufacturing™ (PFM).

WM Synergy deployed PFM (including its Predictor tool) integrated with Graphicast’s legacy ERP to prioritize work, simulate future schedules, and eliminate bottlenecks. The change cut the backlog from four weeks late to about one week, boosted on-time deliveries from 45% to 75% month-over-month, increased throughput without significant new labor or equipment, and enabled Graphicast to confidently offer and evaluate expedited orders.
