Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) partnered with WizIQ to rethink distance education in India. YCMOU struggled with limited real-time interaction between teachers and students, travel and scheduling barriers that kept learners from attending classes, and sporadic, oversized sessions that made effective dialogue and doubt-clearing difficult.

Using the WizIQ Virtual Classroom—browser-based live audio/video, class recordings, a whiteboard, online resource library, designated office hours and ongoing support—YCMOU delivers live virtual courses and active-learning tutorials at scale. The program restored regular teacher-student interaction, reduced travel costs and scheduling constraints for learners, expanded instructors’ reach and remuneration, and established a scalable flipped-classroom model that improved engagement and learning outcomes.
